A Holistic Approach to Family Law

Compassionate Legal Guidance For New York Families

What makes my approach “holistic”?

Family law issues rarely exist in isolation. A divorce, for example, may not only involve the division of assets and questions of custody—it can also create the need to revisit your estate plan, update your will, or rethink long-term financial arrangements. In other situations, a marriage may be evolving rather than ending, and a thoughtfully drafted postnuptial agreement can provide clarity and peace of mind without the need for separation.

These are just a few examples of how interconnected legal issues can be. There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to protecting your family, your assets, and your future. Every situation deserves careful attention and a tailored strategy.

That’s why my boutique law firm’s holistic approach to New York family law is designed to support well-informed planning and outcomes. It means looking beyond the immediate issue to understand the full picture—so that nothing important is overlooked. You need counsel who can combine experience with compassion—someone who will guide you through complex legal decisions while remaining attentive to the personal realities behind them.

Early in my career, I made a deliberate choice to represent families in emotionally challenging moments—including divorce, custody and visitation disputes, and cases involving domestic violence. I chose this path because I realized these aren’t just legal files or impersonal transactions. They represent the turning points of people’s lives, and clients deserve a lawyer who will listen to them and understand their needs.

Through my work with clients, I discovered that family law matters are rarely isolated. Elder care planning and estate planning are often intertwined with family disputes. For instance, gray divorce—divorce occurring later in life—may be prompted by age-related financial pressures or unexpected medical issues, such as dementia. These complexities can intensify when a spouse enters a long-term care facility. I am committed to understanding the entire picture on behalf of my clients. This holistic approach allows me to anticipate challenges, coordinate with other professionals when needed, and develop solutions that protect not just the immediate legal issue, but your family’s long-term security and peace of mind.
